The children of Sri Lanka are suffering from the long-term after-effects of the December 2004 Tsunami. Many children lost one or both of their parents, and are now searching for a safe place to stay and a means of continuing their education. Parents are striving to find a way to support their children from day to day, now that many of them have lost their homes, possesions, and livelihoods. Children who were orphaned are struggling to escape the dangers of child exploitation. All of these problems are major concerns for us at Kids Aid USA, and we are doing everything within our power to help the children and their families in Sri Lanka.
But we need your help.
Is your school interested in helping the children of Sri Lanka?
Then our “Kids Helping Kids” program might be right for you!
“Kids Helping Kids” is an innovative program which allows children in the US to raise funds to help the children of Sri Lanka and to actually see who recieves the aid they send. We provide the students in the US with pictures and information about the children they are helping in Sri Lanka, so that they have a tangible result to reward them for all of their hard work. We feel that this encourages children to participate in community service, and we find that the benefits of this program have been bountiful, not only for the children of Sri Lanka, but also for the children of the United States.
Is your school or univeresity intersted in participating?
